By now, you probably have heard about the Melania Trump plagiarism scandal. If you are anything like me, you are not super into politics but still enjoy keeping up with the current rundown, and you would have never noticed that Melania Trump’s speech at the National Republican Convention Monday night sounded oddly similar to Michelle Obama’s speech 8 years ago at the National Democratic Convention until the media pointed it out. Now that it is all out in the open, lets take a look at the evidence.

Evidence #1

Michelle: “Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values, like you work hard for what you want in life”

Melania: “The values that you work hard for what you want in life”

Evidence #2

Michelle: “That your word is your bond and you do what you say you are going to do”

Melania: “That your work is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promises.”

Evidence #3

Michelle: “That you treat people with dignity and respect.”

Melania: “That you treat people with respect.”

Evidence #4

Michelle: “Because we want our children and all children in this nation to know that, the only limits of the height of your achievements, is the reach of your dreams and willingness to work hard for them.”

Melania: “Because we want our children in this nation to know that, the only limit to your achievements, is the strength of your dreams and your willingness to work for them.”

Now, while watching this speech Monday, I had no idea that this was almost the same speech Michelle Obama gave 8 years ago, but now that I see the evidence, it’s hard not to watch the videos, read the tweets, look at the memes and laugh at this awful mistake made by her speech writer. You’ll get ‘em next time Melania, much love.
